IMAGINE
Being an artist is a way of life. It is not only the process of creating art, it is the way in which you see the world around you - full of color, light, and possibilities. It can be as simple as the beautiful color of late afternoon light cast on a wall or the textures and composition of the flowers in your garden.
I have spent many years studying art as a classically trained painter. I have taught art in both traditional and abstract genres. I believe that gaining solid proficiency in the technical skills gives one the building blocks, hence the ability, to break through these traditions and release your ideas. You can put on paper or canvas whatever you can IMAGINE.
Many of my paintings have been large works, focusing on the interplay of light on architectural and landscape subjects. I enjoy the challenge of these complicated works and always will. Oil has been my primary medium, but I love to work in watercolor and pencil as well. Each has their special qualities.
Variety is good in life. If oneʼs art reflects oneʼs life, than the art can have variety, also. The word that I would use to describe my recent work is WHIMSICAL. At this point in my career, Iʼve decided to use my skills and to have FUN with my work. I greatly enjoy making it, and I hope that it brings joy to others, too.
